To all our newest Members and Associate Members, welcome to NALCP!

We are excited and pleased to have you in our organization and hope that you will take away as much from this group as some of us legacy folks have. Besides the annual conference, and resourceful NALCP website, this is one of the best licensing and compliance networking organizations for the retailer businesses.  Some of us have been with NALCP since 2006.

We are going into our 12th annual NALCP conference and hope to see all of you in San Diego, CA this coming October.

Please welcome...

Moving Forward Together: NALCP Mentor Program

You may be asking yourself right now; what do these numbers represent? These numbers are:

  • The number of new Members and Companies since Fall 2016 (17 New members and 12 Companies)
  • The number of new Members and Companies that attended the New Orleans Conference (9 new Members and 6 new Companies),
  • The number of Members that are part of the Mentorship Committee (5 Members), and
  • The number of Members that signed up to be a Mentor (2 Members).

As you can see by the numbers, we need your help! Volunteer as a Mentor and help us show new Members why this Association is so great.  You may ask, what do you get out of this experience?   You get a chance to form new relationships.  You get to help promote this Association.  And if you are lucky, you get a few new friends!

If you are interested in being part of this of great Program, please contact Laura Carlson-Heideman, Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. at [email protected]  or Linda Costner, Fun Eats and Drinks, LLC at [email protected]  to learn more.

For those Associate Members who want to continue to share their knowledge and information with other NALCP Members, remember you can always submit an article to us and we'll make sure it's posted and available on our website, under the "Associate Member Corner."   Certainly, your article placement on the NALCP website would be great place to have your comprehensive research and work viewable to the NALCP community.

As always, please email Asally at [email protected]   if you have any questions about wanting to submit an article for NALCP to publish.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns related to our NALCP communications, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].   Cheers Everyone!

National Administrative Professionals' Day, also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day,  is observed on April 26th this year.  It is a day to recognize the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists and other administrative support professionals.

National Administrative Professionals' Day is often celebrated with gifts to one's assistant, such as flowers, gift certificates, gift baskets, candy or lunch.  Honor your administrative assistants by sharing your gratitude in the best way possible.  In a lot of ways, they are our life-savors!

National Pretzel Day is observed annually on April 26.  A bag of nice crunchy, salty pretzels or a big, warm, soft, pretzel is the question of the day. Choose either, and have it with a nice cold brew!

Here's some history; the Pennsylvania Dutch immigrants introduced pretzels to North America in the 19th century.  At this time, many handmade pretzel bakeries populated central Pennsylvania, and their popularity quickly spread.

It was in the 20th century that soft pretzels were very popular in areas such as Philadelphia, Chicago and New York.

Today, the average Philadelphian consumes about twelve times as many pretzels as the national average and Pennsylvania is the center of American pretzel production for both hard and soft pretzels, producing 80% of the nation's pretzels.

The annual United States pretzel industry is worth over $550 million and the average American consumes about 1.5 pounds of pretzels per year.
